KMC Active Summer CrossFit Program for CGB Athletes
KMC Active (Kirby Medical Center) is going to provide a summer CrossFit program for Cerro Gordo and Bement high school and junior high athletes at the Cerro Gordo KMC Active location at the Civic Center. This is general physical preparedness program that includes cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. This is not a sport specific training program but will easily transfer over to any aspect of sport and is beneficial to all student athletes both physically and mentally. Along with the workouts, we do a variety of accessory exercises that help to prevent injury and are more specific to sport training.
Specifics:
- 8-week program (June 1st through July 29th/30th) with the IHSA dead week off
- High school: incoming grades 9-12
- Class on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
- $125, t-shirt included
- Class will take place from 10:30-11:30am
- Junior high: incoming 6-8
- Classes on Tuesday and Thursday
- $100, t-shirt included
- Class will take place from 11:30am-12:15pm
- Each class will include the following structure: General warm-up, specific warm-up, workout and/or lifting with specific stimulus and goals then conclude with stretching and accessory work
- Baseline and post program testing/workouts done for objective data
