Cerro Gordo CUSD #100 Superintendent of Schools
Emily Weidner Ed. D.
I am excited to be in my second year in Cerro Gordo CUSD #100 as Superintendent of Schools. This is my 25th year in education and I am eager to apply my experience and knowledge to help our students and staff reach their full potential.
I started my career as a high school social studies teacher at Rantoul Township High School in 2000. I taught U.S. History, Honors U.S. History, and Advanced Placement U.S. History as well as other elective courses. In 2006 I was hired as Dean of Students at RTHS, and that position led to becoming principal of The Pathways Behavior Program, a K-12 school serving rural Champaign County special education students who required more intensive services than their home districts could provide. In 2008, I returned to my hometown and became principal of White Heath Elementary School in Monticello and remained there until 2021 when I transferred to Washington Elementary School in Monticello. I have a variety of experiences across all grade levels and have coached softball, volleyball, basketball, and swim team.
When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three teenage kids, and our dog. I spend most of my time in the bleachers watching my kids play sports, but I also love traveling, gardening, reading, and driving around in my Jeep.
